Service and reviews
Refreshments served on arrival, unless I'm not around and Tim's cutting the lawn as the mower won't start again until it's completely cooled down!
Fresh fruit salad and cereals followed by full English breakfast using the best local produce and our own eggs of course - cooked to perfection by Tim! He's also got the hang of making porridge, so if the idea appeals....or let us know what you would like. Home made bread most days.
Special diets catered for if possible - phone and discuss.
Do you dread the weight that you put on whilst you're away on holiday? It is though, surely a time to spoil yourself, so wouldn't it be nice to be offered lovely tasty food that you could enjoy without piling on the pounds? I started to think more about the way I was cooking when Tim and I were putting on weight, something had to be done! I caught Tim thickening a cheese sauce with more cheese, no wonder I'd started to waddle! I know now that you can make a very nice lighter sauce with stock, half-fat creme fraiche and some cheese!
I tend to cook Mediterranean type food which is tasty but also healthy and not particularly fattening. Mind you I always offer a home made pudding which won't necessarily fall into the low fat category! Favourite desserts are definitely British - bread and butter pudding, apple crumble, sticky toffee pudding, Eton Mess and chocolate fudge cake all seem to be rather popular...
When booking simply give me an idea of your particular likes and dislikes and I will adapt recipes to suit your palate and your waistline!
At breakfast, we always make a fresh fruit salad and offer to poach or scramble rather than fry eggs. If you do fancy bacon and sausages, Tim always grills them anyway, so damage limitation there!
